Linzer researchers make batteries stretch

The development of expandable battery scientist currently working for Siegfried Bauer from the “Soft Matter Physics of the University of Linz. The possible applications of such energy sources would be incorporated into clothing such as electronic devices such as MP3 players or mobile phones.

For non-rechargeable DELL Studio 1537 battery, the feat has already succeeded Bauer reported to the APA.

The work was published in the scientific journal “Advanced Materials”. Flexible Dell Latitude X1 battery are already there. Thus, the units of energy but largely invisible – and undetectable – can be processed into clothing, they can be shaped not only must but also expand. Bauer and his team are currently working with some rubber bands to rubber base.

“To get the right chemistry for the cells, there are some aspects from ancient DELL Latitude D620 battery, such as zinc-carbon batteries,” says the physicist. Quasi in pioneer times technicians worked a lot with gels, which is then partially forgotten. But this material is ideally suited for flexible cells.

A separate challenge are the electric lines. Experts attending the Linz experiment with gels, such as so-called Russgel that can be printed or vapor-deposited gold films. What is currently one-way Dell Inspiron 1520 battery are already working should be extended to include rechargeable Dell Inspiron Mini 9 battery. Then the energy would be nothing to stop the jumper.
