Uniform power supplies – single battery

In all newspapers is that they have finally made it to two years to agree on a unified mobile power supply. Finally!

But what could also introduce time would be consistent camera and mobile phone batteries. The fact I feel even more at the clock. Especially I’ve already ordered new batteries. Since I shoot digital (that is since 12 years now!), I need new Dell Inspiron 6400 battery for almost any camera.

OK, we admit, a total of 5 or 6 of the cameras that I’ve had it / use normal AA batteries (AA). That’s all right. But every digital SLR previously needed a new DELL XPS M1530 battery type (3 different makes), then took three different compact cameras also have their respective individual battery, and a video camera came back with something so special. And soon is probably yet another new type of battery due, probably because it is still ne new Nikon.

And from any type of Dell Inspiron 1501 battery you need experience, at least three pieces in the studio or on tour (one in the camera, one in reserve, one in the charger in the hotel room). And if it goes back for 3 weeks in the desert, you should also have more here. Then for each type of battery is still the bundled charger, travel charger and possibly another from time to time even a 12-volt charger for the car.

Makes the result a lot of expensive and environmentally harmful waste.

OK, we admit, it puts a bit because some of the cameras are so old that the Dell Inspiron 1520 battery are broken now anyway, longer than 2-3 years to make the it anyway. Still, it’s getting on my alarm clock that I have to hold various types of batteries charged. If I have my equipment so together, as I wish them to me, I have only three different battery types, each of multiple HP Pavilion DV5 Battery and chargers with you on trips.

And there really is not for technical reasons. Just the three batteries that I’ve used SLR (Minolta, Sony, Nikon) in principle all the same, only once the contacts bit different, or sometimes even with a capacity chip in there. But no major technical differences.

It’s high time that the EU proposes purely because times and for such stuff just about 5 times the standard battery designs, from small to large flat-strong.
